Septic Tank Standards

Septic tanks are designed to receive the raw sewage of both residential and commercial buildings. These precast tanks are used as holding chambers which promote the bacterial action to condition the sewage for percolation to the septic leach field.

Sewage treated in the tank is subject to decomposition by bacterial and natural processes. The sludge is accumulated on the bottom of the tank and liquids including scum are treated by the action of the tank with the liquids being dispersed into the leach fields as effluent.

Tanks are available for non-traffic conditions as well as for heavy duty traffic loading with additional reinforcing.
